This was a fun project in the fact that we had the
opportunity to use what we learned in this module while not necessarily having
artistic skill. Knowing that I would not
have enough free time for the rest of the week to put a lot of time into this I
waited until Wednesday, after work, to work on it. Unfortunately, it was snowing and pretty
cold. So I decided to do the project’s
14 elements in my house. This, to me,
was really interesting to do. There were
a couple that I struggled to find a good subject matter, especially balance and
movement.
Wally,
ReplyDeleteFirst, I chose to review your Blog for this week's assignment because this is also my first art class in in decades, and I was intrigued by your Blog title. In reviewing your Project#1 post, I am really impressed with the collage hyper link. It is really legit and professional looking. I also appreciate that you found the subjects for the elements and principles in your everyday life. I did the same. It almost felt like more of an accomplishment (a greater proof of learning) to see these aspects and capture them, rather than going out in search of them out side of the natural habitat of the day to day. Great Blog post for Project #1.
Walter,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed viewing some of your ideas for this project. My favorite picture out of your collection was the value photo. I think it grasps the concept of value perfectly, and that was one that I happened to struggle with in my own collection. Also, I liked the unity photo and the color photos. I think it was awesome that you were able to use things around your household to create your project when I needed to go outside and look around to capture photos that represented the words. I feel like you found the definitions of each word around your house (if that makes sense). I did not really see the texture of your texture photo, but I may have not been seeing what you saw in the photo. Overall, nice job on the project.

I chose this as my second review and was glad to see good effort and actual pictures posted to the blog directly. I think its cool that you used a collage to show all of the elements and principles of art. All are represented well and I have no question as to what each were. Even though you said you struggled to find subject matter, you did a really good job with what you had available.
